Born and reared in Texas, Jacob moved to New York City in 1999. It wasn’t until he moved to NYC that he became interested in film. Blessed with a willingness to make mistakes, he delved head first into do-it-yourself, learn-as-you-go filmmaking with the short film, TEMPERANCE (2002).

Considering that project a success, Jacob was poised with the confidence to take on the world of feature-length filmmaking. A year later, THE BENCH (2003) was completed. PURPLE PASTURES marks the third film in as many years for Mr. Waxler and he is currently busy writing two other feature-length screenplays tentatively entitled THE BURIAL and GABE DAVIS.
